Turn on or off AutoComplete
When the AutoComplete feature is turned on, Microsoft Word will display a ScreenTip when you type the first few characters of an AutoText (AutoText: A storage location for text or graphics you want to use again, such as a standard contract clause or a long distribution list. Each selection of text or graphics is recorded as an AutoText entry and is assigned a unique name.) entry, at which point you can insert the entry or continue typing.
- On the Insert menu, point to AutoText, and then click AutoText.
- Select or clear the Show AutoComplete suggestions check box.
